Last week was an interesting week for the Smiths. Tayla went to kindergarten for the first time and she loved it. She’s an extremely social little girl therefore Lollie and I decided over the Christmas break that it’s time. When we dropped her off, we returned to a rather noiseless environment … it was weird.
Here in South Africa we have a huge energy shortage. The power outages are really hammering our country’s economy and morale. Yesterday in our service we discussed what it means to be the light of the world. As a practical discipline we will ponder Jesus’ words that we are the light of the world every time the electricity goes out (which for most of us is at least two hours a day).
We’re also in our membership recommitment phase. As for now Claypot Community has no members. Everyone is praying and seeking God’s face whether they should be part of the community and its rhythms for 2008. So it’s been hectic in our lives in a steady, revealing kind of way.
