We get a lot of responses to the news of our pregnancy. The funniest one by far was Schalk’s mother that said: "How did that happen?". Well it all has to do with encounter and experience, JR posted some good thoughts on the latter here.
It’s interesting that the word "know" in Hebrew can be used for knoweldge as in head knowledge and knowledge in an intimate/experiential way (sex). The KJV of Genesis 4:1 reads, And Adam knew his wife, and she conceived.
Knowledge then has a dimension to it that can be related to extreme erotic experience. In our culture that flatlined on head-knowledge without experience, a recovery of the word YADA is in order. Imagine what can be conceived if we really experience God? Imagine the pregnancies and kingdom infants that will be unleashed – the revolution of love. I can just imagine people asking, How did that happen? I think that’s what Jesus meant when He said these famous words in John 13,
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
