We’re back after some down time. The three of us are doing well.
Two verses have really struck me in the last few days and both involve hunting.
The first one is from the gospel of Mark,
In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and
went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. And Simon and his
companions hunted for him.
And then from Psalm 70 in the Message translation,
Let those on the hunt for you sing and celebrate. Let all who
love your saving way say over and over, “God is mighty!”
Here in Africa you’ll find a lot of hunting tales describing how a hunter stalks lion for days on end. The hunter stalks with the uneasy feeling that he’s being watched; the stalker and the hunter’s roles reverse. The Lion of Judah loves these kinds of games; He loves to turn our hunting into an experiment of wild surprises! I wouldn’t have it any other way. May we hunt and be hunted in 2006.
