For the last week I’ve run a particular experiment.  I walk into a Christian bookstore and ask the clerk whether they have any books on helping the poor or assisting people with Aids.  Last week I got a weird look from the sales person with a firm no.  Today, at another store I was totally speechless.  I asked the girl at the till if they had books on those subjects.  Her answer was,

"No , this is a religious bookstore – try one of the secular bookstores."  So I asked her if helping the poor wasn’t a part of following Jesus.  Another blank stare.
